Weekend Masterclass with David Razowsky

The challenge for most improvisers is trying to stick to “the rules” and believing “Yes, and” is the magic formula for a successful scene. Characters meander and never find their footing. In an instant, you travel from a state of fluidity to a mess of frustration and ask yourself, “How did I go wrong?” or “Now what?” David Razowsky’s masterclasses provide methods and exercises that teach you to connect to your partner and the scene without worrying about the rules and responding with a “yes, and” after every line.

Weekend Masterclass: The Weekend Masterclass builds on Razowsky’s methodology of mindfulness, emotional awareness, kinesthetic responses, and truthfulness to create deep and surprising scenes. We will review the basics of connectedness and fly from there. This is gonna be good! Prerequisite: This weekend workshop is open only to students who have attended at least one of the week’s previous workshops or a masterclass with Razowsky in person or virtually.

About the Instructor: David Razowsky studied, performed, taught, and directed at Second City with fellow performers Stephen Colbert, Steve Carrell, and Michael Keegan-Key, among many others. He went on to serve as Artistic Director of Second City Hollywood for nine years before turning his attention to full-time coaching. He has directed and taught his methodology to individuals and groups in the US and worldwide.
