Comedians Mike Mitchell and Nick Wiger found the best way to expense meals: They review chain restaurants and joke around on their hit podcast, "Doughboys." With hundreds of episodes already under their belts, they're bringing the show to the DC Improv for a second time, recording in front of a live audience on DC's favorite comedy stage.

AKA "Improv for Fun!" A class for people who want to learn improv games while having fun playing with other improvisers. The focus is on building confidence, communication skills and a sense of play -- improv training often helps people develop teamwork and creative thinking. While students are coached to learn new games and skills, less time is spent on preparing for a performance, and more time is spent on simply having fun. This class is both for beginning improvisers who want to learn the games they've seen in shows, and for experienced improv students who want to recapture a sense of playfulness in their games and scenes.

Martin Amini is a stand up comic based in Los Angeles, California and born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. Martin draws comedic inspiration from his diverse heritage, crafting a unique blend of humor that resonates universally. Growing up with an Iranian father and a Bolivian mother, Martin's multicultural background provides rich material for his stand-up routines, creating an engaging comedic experience. In addition to exploring his heritage, Martin infuses his comedy with insights from his own experiences of marriage, offering hilarious commentary on relationships that audiences can personally relate to. After a sold-out DC Improv debut in 2024, Jay Jurden is returning to our stage for a full headlining weekend. Originally from Mississippi, Jay regularly performs comedy all over the country and was a staff writer for Apple TV+'s Emmy-nominated show "The Problem With Jon Stewart." Jay has performed on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" three times and has also been seen on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," Comedy Central Featuring, "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," and HBO’s "High Maintenance."

Now, the hilarious queen is bringing her signature and raunchy comedy to the DC Improv in her new show, "Don’t Bring the Kids." Promising her trademark blend of comedy, music, and irreverence, she’s set to take audiences on a wild ride. From her infamous parodies to her uncensored commentary on contemporary culture, Lady Bunny pulls no punches.

Gina Yashere made her DC Improv debut back in 2018. And since then ... wow. Zach Noe Towers is an LA-based comedian, actor, and writer you may have seen in season three of Netflix’s "Dear White People" or hosting the E! series "Nightly Pop" and "Dating #NoFilter." Zach entered the comedy scene in 2018 when he was named one of Time Out magazine’s Comics to Watch, as well as one of the New Faces of Comedy at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. This year Zach has been touring as the opening act on the theater tours of Taylor Tomlinson and Fortune Feimster. His new sex-based SiriusXM show "After Hours with Zach Noe Towers" can be heard on Netflix is a Joke radio (channel 93) or anytime on the SiriusXM app. Look out for Zach in the upcoming Cooper Raiff project "Hal and Harper."

Jordan Jensen started comedy in upstate New York before moving to Nashville, where she spent a year working for clubs and taking her comedy on the road in her pickup truck. Throughout Cipha Sounds’ many career turns, two elements have remained at the fore: comedy and hip-hop, his two biggest passions. On the radio, as a VJ for MTV, and as a Live DJ, he has always maintained a sharp sense of humor on the mic. AKA "Improv for Fun!" A class for people who want to learn improv games while having fun playing with other improvisers. The focus is on building confidence, communication skills and a sense of play -- improv training often helps people develop teamwork and creative thinking. While students are coached to learn new games and skills, less time is spent on preparing for a performance, and more time is spent on simply having fun. This class is both for beginning improvisers who want to learn the games they've seen in shows, and for experienced improv students who want to recapture a sense of playfulness in their games and scenes.

Monday, June 23 (online), meeting at 7:30 p.m. This a 150-minute online class, conducted through a Zoom meeting. Participants must have a reliable Internet connection and a computer, phone or device with a web camera and microphone.

Use improv techniques to generate creative ideas and develop them into scripts. This workshop emphasizes spontaneity, brainstorming and converting off-the-cuff moments into polished material. Participants will learn how to embrace the creative process, refine raw ideas into compelling narratives, and collaborate effectively with others to bring their visions to life. Perfect for writers, performers, and anyone looking for tools to transform inspiration into impactful stories. Prerequisite: None.

Your instructor: Nikki Frias has contributed to Pop Sugar, Forbes, The Daily Beast, and Boardroom. She is an author, writing coach and teacher specializing in helping people find their form of funny. Her book is titled “Does this Divorce Make Me Look Fat?” and she currently teaches comedy writing at The Writer’s Center, and improv at the Washington Improv Theatre. Join us for a supersized edition of the world's greatest stand-up competition! Each Wednesday for four straight weeks, we'll have six different performers duke it out. Each "match" has comics doing sets back-to-back, and the audience chooses one person to advance. At the end of each Wednesday, we'll have a champion ... and of course, the audience ALWAYS wins.

A beginner's guide to sketch comedy that will take you from a premise to a fully realized sketch. This course will walk you through the elements of a sketch and how to write good sketches; it also features workshop sessions where you'll do read-throughs and get feedback on the writing assignments you'll be preparing. You'll walk away with a solid grounding in the foundations of sketch comedy, as well as the knowledge of how to craft and write sketches of your own.

Tired of swiping? In this dating experiment, men compete on stage for one lucky bachelorette, with the little caveat that the men can't speak. Through a series of games - which includes calling the boys' moms and unlocking their phones - we narrow it down to two men. Finally, we hear their voices, and the lucky winning man is sent with our bachelorette to the bar for an immediate date. Audience members wear wristbands according to their relationship status, and a wingcouple (who wear actual wings) helps those of you who are too shy to make a move. Joyelle Nicole Johnson is a comedian and writer who brings joy to the stage. About the Instructor: Conor O'Rourke has been performing comedy for more than 14 years. He was first introduced to improv in college, and he joined ComedySportz in 2009. Conor helped create the group Porkchop Volcano in 2013, which has performed at the DC Improv, Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse, Brightbox Theater, the Charm City Comedy Festival and more. With instructor Chris Ulrich. The Armando is a long form improv structure in which a monologist shares short stories from an audience suggestion that reflects true events or honest experiences. Using the monologist's detailed stories as inspiration, improvisers will be challenged to create a series of scenes and character interactions, exploring the interesting or absurd themes and ideas to discover what is funny about them. This format will challenge you to be a powerful story teller and keen listener in the moment to create a playful, funny world from a story. Admission Policies

• Patrons must be 18 or older to attend events or classes at the DC Improv. Any exceptions are clearly noted in the event descriptions.
• There is a two-item minimum per customer. This can be any combination of food items or beverages. Bottled water and soft drinks count as items. (The two-item minimum does not apply to comedy classes.)
• Coupons or passes for free admission cannot be used for a show listed as a "special event."

Seating Policies

• Matinees, the first show of any evening in our main showroom and all shows in our lounge showroom are seated by time of arrival. The earlier you arrive, the more options you'll have. Please note that the size of your party can affect what options are available to you, as certain tables and areas are designated for larger parties.
• "Late shows" in the main showroom have assigned seating. Assignments are made in order of ticket purchase. Generally speaking, the earlier you buy tickets, the closer you will be to the stage.
• If tickets are designated as being at a "reserved table," your party will have a table to itself. For general admission or VIP tickets, if your party does not fill an entire table, you may be sharing a table with other patrons.
