In 2023 Joanne McNally came to NYC and sold out 2 town halls (3,000 total tickets). In Dublin she has sold more than 70,000 tickets for her stand up is doing 5 arena shows separately for her live podcast. Over 100,000 tickets sold in Dublin alone. Her podcast “My Therapist Ghosted Me” has more than 55 million downloads. Joanne was named as Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch in 2023.

Described by The Sunday Times as a 'truly gifted stand-up', Joanne has been taking Ireland's comedy scene by storm with sell out tours, hilarious chat show appearances, newspaper articles, and a hit documentary all under her belt. Now firmly on the UK comedy circuit, she's enjoyed sell out Edinburgh runs with her stand up shows Wine Tamer and The Prosecco Express. She toured Ireland with both shows, and sold out her Soho Theatre run. Joanne created, wrote, and presented the funny and insightful documentary Baby Hater, which was broadcast in Ireland for TV3, and has been sold to 12 countries.

Her first one woman show, Bite Me - a show about eating disorders - was nominated for multiple awards including Best Performer, Best Production, and a First Fortnight award at the Dublin Fringe in 2016. Joanne performed Bite Me at the Vault Festival in 2019 where Lyn Gardner described her as 'hilarious and brutal'. Joanne has numerous TV credits include co-hosting RTÉ 2's flagship comedy show Republic of Telly, and appearing on The Blame Game (BBC NI), Women on The Verge (UKTV), The Late Late Show (RTÉ One), and The Tommy Tiernan Chat Show (RTÉ One). Her radio credits include BBC Radio 4's A Good Read, BBC Radio 5 Live's Sarah Brett Show, and a regular slot on 2FM's Mack the Week. You can also catch her on the hit BBC podcast hosted by Russell Kane, Evil Genius, and the online series Comedians Solve World Problems (Comedy Central).

Admission Policies

  • Please note: An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. Senior citizens and people with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting our establishment, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
  • Patrons must be 18 or older to attend events or classes at the DC Improv. Any exceptions are clearly noted in the event descriptions.
  • There is a two-item minimum per customer. This can be any combination of food items or beverages. Bottled water and soft drinks count as items. (The two-item minimum does not apply to comedy classes.)
  • Coupons or passes for free admission cannot be used for a show listed as a "special event."

Seating Policies

  • Matinees, the first show of any evening in our main showroom and all shows in our lounge showroom are seated by time of arrival. The earlier you arrive, the more options you'll have. Please note that the size of your party can affect what options are available to you, as certain tables and areas are designated for larger parties.
  • "Late shows" in the main showroom have assigned seating. Assignments are made in order of ticket purchase. Generally speaking, the earlier you buy tickets, the closer you will be to the stage.
  • If tickets are designated as being at a "reserved table," your party will have a table to itself. For general admission tickets, if your party does not fill an entire table, you may be sharing a table with other patrons.
