Drew Michael

Drew Michael

with Rob Maher and Denise Taylor

Drew Michael broke out in 2018 with his self-titled, one-hour special on HBO (“Drew Michael”), released to widespread critical acclaim. Its radical approach in both format and content led The New York times to exalt it as “thrillingly subversive,” while GQ raved that Drew “represents the past and future of stand-up comedy.” The special earned a prestigious Writers Guild Award nomination, the only stand-up special to do so that year.

Drew has also released a half-hour special on Comedy Central as well as two full-length live albums (Funny to Death, Lovely), both of which debuted at #1 on the iTunes charts. He wrote for “Saturday Night Live” and guest-starred in an episode of “The Carmichael Show.”

Drew has also done a lot of other things, most of which are not relevant here.

Rob Maher

Rob Maher is a two-time finalist in Comedy Central's Laugh Riot competition, and in 2017 he was featured on Kevin Hart’s “Hart of the City." He is a recurring guest on Baltimore's 98 Rock and one of Armed Forces Entertainment's featured comedians. He's had the great honor of performing shows for our troops in 17 countries, including Afghanistan, Kuwait, Italy, Turkey, Japan and South Korea. His Dry Bar Comedy Special, “You Can Make it Here…” just dropped, and under the banner of Die Laughing Productions he produces murder mystery comedy shows.

Denise Taylor

Denise Taylor knew she wanted to be a comedian ever since her fourth grade teacher called her a "ringleader" for distracting the class with jokes. At 26, Denise's sharp material and commanding stage presence has led her to open for several national touring headliners, including Judah Friedlander, Chris Gethard, Kamau Bell, Moshe Kasher, and many more. Denise is currently a contributor for The Onion. She also appears frequently on two of DC's most popular comedy shows: Fale University and The Time Machine Roast. COVID-19 Information

  • To comply with the city's capacity restrictions and social distancing guidelines, we are selling tables rather than individual tickets to any show where restrictions are expected to be in place. At this time, customers will not be sharing tables with anyone other than their party. If your group requires multiple tables, those tables will maintain 6-foot social distancing rules.
  • Customers are expected to take necessary precautions to protect themselves and others. Per local guidelines, customers must properly wear a face covering or mask except when eating or drinking at their table.
  • Employees and customers will have their temperatures taken upon entrance to the facility. Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or greater will not be permitted on the premises.

Admission / Seating Policies

  • Please note that our standard policies will be suspended as needed to comply with COVID-19 regulations.
  • There is a two-item minimum per customer. This can be any combination of food items or beverages. Bottled water and soft drinks count as items. (The two-item minimum does not apply to comedy classes.)
  • Patrons must be 18 or older to attend events or classes at the DC Improv. Any exceptions are clearly noted in the event descriptions on dcimprov.com.
  • For our main showroom, the first show of any night is the "early" show. All other shows are "late" shows.
  • Early shows in the main showroom are seated by time of arrival. The earlier you arrive at the club, the greater your seating options will be. Please note that the size of your party will also affect what seating options are available to you, as certain tables and areas are designated for larger parties.
  • Late shows in the main showroom have assigned seating, and assignments are made in order of ticket purchase. The earlier you buy tickets, the better your seats will be (i.e. closer to the stage).
  • For our lounge, all shows regardless of start time are seated by time of arrival.
