With more than 20 years as a stand-up comedian, Tom Papa is one of the top comedic voices in the country finding success in film, television and radio as well as on the live stage.

Tom has released three stand-up specials, Human Mule, Tom Papa: Freaked Out, and Tom Papa Live in New York City. He is the host of the hit podcast and SiriusXM show, Come to Papa, a weekly hour-long show exploring the funny side of life, sometimes with celebrity guests. In July 2019, Tom and Fortune Feimster started hosting the SiriusXM show What A Joke with Papa and Fortune.

On the small screen Tom co-starred with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon in the HBO film, Behind the Candelabra, which won 11 Emmys. Tom has also guest starred on The Jim Gaffigan Show and Inside Amy Schumer. Personally chosen by Jerry Seinfeld, Tom hosted the NBC series, The Marriage Ref, which ran for two seasons.

When it comes to feature films, Tom was seen in Chris Rock's film Top Five, he starred opposite Matt Damon in The Informant, and he appeared in Analyze That opposite Robert DeNiro. He also wrote and voiced some of the DreamWorks animated feature Bee Movie. Most recently, Tom was seen as the host on the Food Network’s Baked.

Respected by people throughout the entertainment industry – everyone from Jerry Seinfeld to Rob Zombie is a fan – he has landed gigs as an actor, a TV host, and the head writer for the NPR show "Live From Here." Now he's even on the radio waves, co-hosting "What a Joke" on Netflix's SiriusXM comedy channel.

Admission Policies

  • Patrons must be 18 or older to attend events or classes at the DC Improv. Any exceptions are clearly noted in the event descriptions on dcimprov.com.
  • There is a two-item minimum per ticket. This can be any combination of food items or beverages. Bottled water and soft drinks count as items. (The two-item minimum does not apply to comedy classes.)

Seating Policies

  • For our main showroom, the first show of any night is the "early" show. All other shows are "late" shows. Early shows are seated by time of arrival. The earlier you arrive at the club, the greater your seating options will be. Late shows have assigned seating, and assignments are made in order of ticket purchase. The earlier you buy tickets, the better your seats will be (i.e. closer to the stage). Click here for a more detailed explanation of seating policies.
  • For our lounge, all shows regardless of start time are seated by time of arrival.
