Comedian Big Jay Oakerson has been a stand out at comedy and music festivals around the world for the last 2 decades including Just For Laughs Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver & Sydney Australia, Comedy Central’s Colossal Clusterfest, the New York Comedy Festival, SXSW, Moontower Festival, North By Northeast, and Mayhem Festival among others. Jay has also appeared on multiple television shows including his first one hour special "Live At Webster Hall" which premiered on Comedy Central in June of 2016 followed by his own half-hour special on Netflix which premiered in 2018 as part of the hit series “The Degenerates” . He is the host and creator of the all crowd work show "What's Your F#$king Deal?!” which streamed on NBC's Seeso. Other appearances include FX’s “Louie”, Comedy Central’s “Inside Amy Schumer”, "The Late Show" With Jimmy Fallon, Comedy Central’s "The Comedy Jam" & "This Is Not Happening" as well as the hit IFC show “Z-Rock”. Jay has recorded three albums, "An American Storyteller” and two volumes of "The Crowdwork Sessions” all available on Comedy Central records. He is currently the co-host of The Legions of Skanks & The SDR Show podcasts on Gas Digital Network and of The Bonfire with Big Jay Oakerson and Dan Soder, on Comedy Central Radio on SiriusXM.

Chris Alan

Chris Alan began his comedy career in 2008 in Las Vegas. He moved to Dayton, OH in 2010 and quickly became a local favorite working the clubs. In 2012 he won Dayton's funniest comic and in 2014 he made his television debut on "Laughs" on Fox.

Justin Silver

Justin looks and sounds like he’s from New York probably because he’s from New York. As a long time actor and voice over artist, he can bleach the accent but what can’t be faded is the influence of his urban upbringing. There’s a hustle, energy and unique honesty that is expressed in all of his work.And theres a lot of work...

Justin is a stand up comic with a self-prodding, open book style that can be served on any stage. He can be seen regularly at New York's favorite comedy clubs as well as on tour nationally. He's a TV host, best selling author and co-hosts the weekly podcasts "No Disrespect" & "Neurotica" and a regular on "The Bonfire" on Comedy Central Radio.

Justin is an animal activist, combining his passions for comedy and dogs into into Funny For Fido. A charity that brings the countries top comedians together to raise money and awareness for animal rescue. Justin’s comedic talent and way with man’s best friend caused CBS to take notice and in May 2012, the debut episode of CBS’ “Dogs In The City,” a primetime reality series starring Justin hit the airwaves.

He can be seen in "High Fidelity" coming on Hulu. Co-starred in "The Sinner" on USA. Guest starred in "Law and Order" on NBC and has appeared in innumerable morning shows and articles including Live with Kelly and Michael, Rachel Ray, The Today Show, The Talk, CBS This Morning, Hollywood Extra, The New York Times, The New York Post, FOX News, The Daily News, The Post, Daily Shot with Ali Wentworth, People Magazine, Inked Magazine, etc.

Over the airwaves or on the stage, Jay's relentless confidence and amazing command can win over almost anyone. Known as a master of crowd work and dirty jokes, he specializes in honest and hilarious stories from his own rock-and-roll lifestyle. You can hear Jay on "The Bonfire" on Comedy Central's SiriusXM channel, you can see him on Netflix, or (best of all) you can see him headline the DC Improv for a fifth time.

Admission Policies

  • Patrons must be 18 or older to attend events or classes at the DC Improv. Any exceptions are clearly noted in the event descriptions on dcimprov.com.
  • There is a two-item minimum per ticket. This can be any combination of food items or beverages. Bottled water and soft drinks count as items. (The two-item minimum does not apply to comedy classes.)

Seating Policies

  • For our main showroom, the first show of any night is the "early" show. All other shows are "late" shows. Early shows are seated by time of arrival. The earlier you arrive at the club, the greater your seating options will be. Late shows have assigned seating, and assignments are made in order of ticket purchase. The earlier you buy tickets, the better your seats will be (i.e. closer to the stage). Click here for a more detailed explanation of seating policies.
  • For our lounge, all shows regardless of start time are seated by time of arrival.
